Myths are stories we tell that convey our values or teach a lesson. They may or may not be factually true, but to focus on the facts of a story - to literalize it - can sometimes cause us to miss the point. Rather than wrestle with the details, we should look for the message behind the story.
Call to Worship
Why have you come to this place?
We have come seeking community.
Why have you come today?
We are tired in body and spirit.
Jesus bids you sit and be at ease.
We are hungry with nothing to eat.
Come and eat your fill.
But there are only five loaves and two fish.
There is plenty for all.
Will we find wholeness here?
Jesus gathers the fragments of our lives,
that nothing may be lost.

1) Sing a happy alleluia, sing it out with heart and style
We’re the echo of God’s laughter, we’re the image of God’s smile.
Refrain Alleluia, all creation, alleluia, everyone!
Alleluia, all creation, alleluia, everyone!
Last time: Alleluia, everyone! Alleluia, everyone!
2) We’re the proof of God’s good humor, we’re the twinkle in God’s eyeMade to shine, reflect the glory, given light and space to fly. Refrain
3) Sarah laughed at God’s good timing, Mary sang and David danced,
Jesus smiled and hugged the children so is life for us enhanced. Refrain
4) Ev’ry day sing alleluia! We are loved, though so absurd,
Human, foolish, chosen people, God still takes us at our word! Refrain

Closing Hymn “You Shall Go Out With Joy” Handout
You shall go out with joy and be led forth with peace;
the mountains and the hills will break forth before you;
there’ll be shouts of joy, and all the trees of the field will clap,
will clap their hands.
And all the trees of the field will clap their hands;
the trees of the field will clap their hands;
the trees of the field will clap their hands while you go out with joy.
Benediction

Doug Booth encourages everyone to volunteer at PAWS – there is something for everyone, from socializing with the dogs on-site to taking a dog to lunch to hosting weekend visits. There are many dogs at the facility who crave human interaction. Additionally, don’t forget to bring in any donations of blankets to the church.
