Call to Worship
Leader: We have been called to walk the faithful road and to choose the way of God’s justice.
People: We are here because we believe strongly that our God is good, and that we live in that goodness. We are here to proclaim our faith and to seek direction along this faith journey.
Leader: Come together, then to be God’s people. Follow Christ and listen for the good things God has done. Rise up in praise and thanksgiving!
People: We will share with others and listen for the good things that God has done. Rise up in praise and thanksgiving!
Leader: We will share with others the goodness that we have found in God. May our lives be an expression of that goodness.
All: Let us worship God.
Prayer of Confession
Ever-loving, ever-living God, you have given us life itself and have asked us to be life-giving people in your name. But we, in turn, have cared more about ourselves and the comfort that we have than about your people in every place. There are people in our very presence who are left out of our thoughts and prayers because our minds and hearts are too crowded with all the things that will make us feel self-satisfied. The world aches for peace, while we proclaim power to be more important. People on our streets are hungry because we make sure we are full before even thinking about them. God, give us the purpose you gave to people in Jesus’s time to be faithful disciples in your care…..silent prayers
Declaration of God’s Forgiveness
Opening Hymn “God is So Good” Hymnal #658
1) God is so good; God is so good;
God is so good; God’s so good to me.
2) God cares for me; God cares for me;
God cares for me; God’s so good to me.
3) God loves me so; God loves me so;
God loves me so; God’s so good to me.
4) God is so good; God is so good;
God is so good; God’s so good to me.

Closing Hymn and Offertory “Today We All Are Called to Be Disciples” Hymnal #757
1) Today we all are called to be disciples of the Lord,
to help to set the captive free, make plowshare out of sword,
to feed the hungry, quench their thirst, make love and peace our fast,
to serve the poor and homeless first, our ease and comfort last.
2) God made the world and at its birth ordained our human race
to live as stewards of the earth, responding to God’s grace.
But we are vain and sadly proud; we sow not peace but strife.
Our discord spreads a deadly cloud that threatens all of life.
3) Pray justice may come rolling down as in a mighty stream,
with righteousness in field and town to cleanse us and redeem.
For God is longing to restore an earth where conflicts cease,
a world that was created for a harmony of peace.
4) May we in service to our God act out the living word,
and walk the road the saints have trod till all have seen and heard.
As stewards of the earth may we give thanks in one accord
to God who calls us all to be disciples of the Lord.
Benediction

On Saturday, May 30, we had a joint Yard Sale and Bake Sale with PFLAG and NACCP!
Perhaps you were there, or contributed some wonderful gently used items, or made some baked goods, or cheered it on from the sidelines, or all of the above. Whatever your part, it was a huge success!
As of Sunday morning, we had earned over $1,500.00! This fulfills our part of the grant for installing a shower AND the remainder contributing to PFLAG’s account.
Thank you to everyone who had small or big parts in this event!
*************
NACCP received a Mary Hemphill grant of $3,500, facilitated by the Inspire Committee of the Synod of the South Atlantic, to partially fund the new shower in the handicap bathroom at the estimated total cost of $7,100.
We are SO grateful for everyone’s help in reaching our goal after a successful Yard and Bake Sale! Work will begin soon.
