 Call to Worship

In the midst of a world where people hunger and thirst…,

come worship a God who calls us to feed the hungry.

In the midst of a world where people are abused and oppressed…,

come worship a God who calls for compassion and justice.

In the midst of a world filled with wars and rumors of war…,

come worship a God who desires nothing less than peace for the world.

In the midst of a world of spiritual emptiness…,

come worship a God who gives life meaning.

Come worship a God whose grace and love knows no end.

Opening Hymn      “Love the Lord Your God”   Hymnal #62

Love the Lord your God with all your soul.

Love the Lord your God with all your mind.

Love the Lord your God with all that you are.

Prayers of the People

Closing Hymn and Offertory   “Lord, You Have Come to the Lakeshore”  Hymnal #721

1)  Lord, you have come to the lakeshore looking neither for wealthy nor wise ones;

you only asked me to follow humbly.

Refrain: O Lord, with your eyes you have searched me,

  and while smiling have spoken my name;

  now my boat’s left on the shoreline behind me.

  By your side I will seek other seas.

2)  You know so well my possessions; my boat carries no gold and no weapons;

you will find there my nets and labor. Refrain

3)  You need my hands, full of caring, through my labors to give others rest

and constant love that keeps on loving. Refrain

4)  You, who have fished other oceans, ever longed for by souls who are waiting,

my loving friend, as thus you call me: Refrain

Shalom       (“May you be well and whole and in communion with all creation.”)

                          Shalom, my friends, Shalom, my friends, Shalom, Shalom.

                            Till we meet again, Till we meet again, Shalom, Shalom.

Calendar of Service -

April 21 - Dave Johnson - Earth Day

April 28 - Dr. Keith Ray

A message from the Earth Care Team about Plastic and You:  Last Sunday our Earth Care Team asked you to reflect upon your use of plastic - especially during your vacation this year: How much plastic will you need? How much plastic will you pack? How could you use less plastic on your vacation?

Please use the Post-It in your bulletin to offer your words about your Reduced Use of plastic. Your Post-Its will be assembled into a collage by Earth Sunday. Your offering may inspire others to Reduce Use of plastic in coming weeks and months!
There will be a Missions and Outreach Committee meeting on April 14 after church.

The Bible Study Group (BSG) meets Mondays at 6:30 pm via Zoom. If you’d like to be added to the Zoom invite list then contact Cynthia at We’d love to have newcomers!

Doug Booth encourages everyone to volunteer at PAWS – there is something for everyone, from socializing with the dogs on-site to taking a dog to lunch to hosting weekend visits. There are many dogs at the facility who crave human interaction.  Additionally, don’t forget to bring in any donations of blankets to the church.
Split Creek Farm will be having its Spring Means Babies Festival on Saturday, April 20 from 10 am until 4 pm. Don’t miss spending some quality time with the baby goats!
Karen highlighted that the Prayer Tree has been moved into the sanctuary. If you have a prayer request to add to the tree, write in on one of the provided tags and hang it on a branch.
Joanne reminds us all to keep up the food donations for AIM (Anderson Interfaith Ministries)!  Bring your non-perishable items to the church.  This is an on-going need that should become part of everyone’s shopping routine.
