Call to Worship
Leader: Come, beloved community—
the One who searches for the lost has called us here.
People: We come, bringing our whole selves: found and unfound, certain and uncertain.
Leader: In the Divine vision, no one is forgotten, no one is expendable.
People: We are gathered by grace that counts every single one of us worthy.
All: Come, let us worship in the extravagant welcome of Divine grace!

1) Sing a happy alleluia, sing it out with heart and style
We’re the echo of God’s laughter, we’re the image of God’s smile.
Refrain Alleluia, all creation, alleluia, everyone!
Alleluia, all creation, alleluia, everyone!
Last time: Alleluia, everyone! Alleluia, everyone!
2) We’re the proof of God’s good humor, we’re the twinkle in God’s eyeMade to shine, reflect the glory, given light and space to fly. Refrain
3) Sarah laughed at God’s good timing, Mary sang and David danced,
Jesus smiled and hugged the children so is life for us enhanced. Refrain
4) Ev’ry day sing alleluia! We are loved, though so absurd,
Human, foolish, chosen people, God still takes us at our word! Refrain
Scripture Lesson Luke 15:1-10
Sermon “Craziness, Foolishness, and Other Divine Impulses” Dr. Keith Ray
Thoughts to ponder: In Luke 15, Jesus tells stories about a shepherd who leaves ninety-nine sheep to search for one that is lost, and a woman who turns her house upside down for a single coin. At first glance, these choices seem foolish—
why risk so much for so little?
But Jesus invites us to see the world through the eyes of these stories, where no one is expendable and the community is not whole until all are restored.
This Sunday we’ll explore what it means to join the Shepherd’s search in our own time and celebrate the joy that comes when what was lost is found.

Closing Hymn and Offertory “You Shall Go Out with Joy” Handout
Words by Steffi Geiser Rubin. Music by Stuart Dauermann.
1975. Lillenas Publishing Co. All rights reserved.
You shall go out with joy and be led forth with peace;
the mountains and the hills will break forth before you;
there’ll be shouts of joy, and all the trees of the field will clap,
will clap their hands.
And all the trees of the field will clap their hands;
the trees of the field will clap their hands;
the trees of the field will clap their hands while you go out with joy.
