Call to Worship

Leader:  Come, let us set aside the world’s measure of success.

People:  We gather to remember that life is more than possessions.

Leader:  The Holy calls us to be rich in love, not in things.

People:  We come to build not bigger barns, but a bigger table.

All:  Let us worship the God of grace, generosity, and justice.

Opening Hymn       “Love the Lord Your God”                          Hymnal #62

Love the Lord your God with all your heart.

Love the Lord your God with all your soul.

Love the Lord your God with all your mind.

Love the Lord your God with all that you are.

Scripture Lesson              Luke 12:13-21

Sermon                    “Prosperity Reimagined”                            Dr. Keith Ray

Thoughts to Ponder:  In a culture that constantly tells us to strive for more—more money, more stuff, more status—Jesus tells a story that flips that script entirely.

He reminds us that our lives are not defined by what we own, or what position we hold,  but by how we live, love, and give.

This Sunday, we reflect on what it means to be "rich toward God" in a world that worships wealth.  We’ll consider how the pursuit of possessions can leave us spiritually empty—and how a life of generosity and purpose can lead to true abundance.

What are we storing up?  And for whom are we living?  How might we imagine a better kind of prosperity, rooted in compassion, community, and grace?

Let’s consider together.

This is my commandment that you love one another that your joy may be full.

This is my commandment that you love one another that your joy may be full.

That your joy may be full, that your joy may be full.
